LANGUAGE ENVIRONMENT
English Funland serves as a place of initiation of theme-based activities,
film shows, Halloween Games Fair, English Newsletter Editorial Board,
etc. which are all intended for strengthening students’ appreciation of
language arts and contributing to a sense of commitment to the English
culture.
The English Editorial Board is a driving force of the reading-writing
culture on campus. It consists of six teacher advisors and 29 students
ranging from Form 3 to Form 5. Our school English newsletter “Elegantianism”
provides a good chance for committed editorial members to apply the language
in a purposeful manner and attract a wide readership of English by means
of presenting interesting and inspiring reading materials to the schoolmates.
“Elegantianism” acts an “eye on the world”, exposing the reading populations
to a wide variety of subject matters and genres and the student-editors
and student-writers to an adequate range of writing and editing skills
as required in the prospective HKDSE English.
School-wide English activities have been organised. They impress the young
minds with excitement and joy, including 2011
Form 1 Halloween Games Fair, 2011 Summer
Study Tour to Perth, 2011 Summer
Intensive Courses for F.3 and F.5, 2011
HK Schools Speech Festival, 2011 English
Summer Camps for Juniors and 2011
Form 3 Newsroom in new S1 English Day Camp. Another highlight of outside-school
English learning, the Whole-year U.S.A. High
School Exchange Program for Forms 3-4 will continue to provide suitable
candidates for exposure to an exotic life. Currently, four students of
ours (one F.3, one F.4 and two F.5s) are enjoying their exchange programme
in the United States.
This is our motto - "we make an effort, we make a difference".
The wide range of activities we offer deserves the wide applause of both
participants and their parents.
